Drafting the Wedding Photo Album for Koko

wanna be your best sister! LOL yeah man! Where should I start. I vividly remember it was 5:00AM when mum decided to wake me to see the sunrise at End-of-the-world Batu Feringghi! As much as I wanna be a good daughter as well as a sister, I can't help but to admit that some U#%*#%(* did pass through my mind. :P Anyway, personally, I like the refreshing feel of morning sea breeze, but the sunrise wasn't that interesting, I was a little dissappointed cos you don get to see the "ray of violet light" at the horizon of sea. I think the scenary will be equivalently pretty if you are there in the evening. (Charge -FREE) After that, we went to Golden Sands for breakfast. I quite like the ambience, cos i find it ultra relaxing and unusual comfortable. Afterall, having breakfast along beachside is not something that happens everyday. After recharging, we departed to the Blue Mansion (Cheong Fatt Si). The location itself was pretty, well decorated with old furnitures. However, this place really pisses me and mum off. Super bad customer service, from the guard to the manager. (Technically speaking there were only two of them, and both are in PMS mood) sample of words: when asked for wedding rental and pre-wedding shooting rental price, the mgr said "what you want first, wedding or pre wedding? aiyo.. this... that.. we only focus on doing ang-mos business" When asked for how to make reservation "if you want room, have to book online, cos all online one nowadays" "if u wanna pre-wedding, it is this xx price, but must ask for approval from manager first" When asked if i can go around and check our the mansion, i got an one-word-answer "NO" wiht a long pause at the end. Sometime, I really don't know how this place can maintain its business with such "friendly" service. (Charges - RM 100 per hour??) Anyway, after that, we drove off to another mansion which mum claimed to be the "hidden treasure" of Penang.. It is a Rumah Peranakan.. Apparently, there is this businessman who earns a big fortune in Singapore and an antique collector decided to buy-over this old mansion, refurbish and furnish it with those antiques he got over the years. True enough, I find the place very special and unique. The owner has really good taste and the mansion definitely looks much livelier than Blue Mansion. Check the photos below out. They have a good blend of chinese and western feel. There was this Tsun Zhong San's movie that was filmed in this place, and I personally think this is a must-go spot for pre-wedding shooting. (Charges- RM 30 per hour) Next, we went to The Sire, a restaurant in town funded by Yap Chor Ee's successor. The place was divided into two parts, front part was a restaurant, and the inner part was a galleria. Rooms are decorated by furnitures from the old Yap Chor Ee's mansion which now is Wawasan Open University. Some of the interior design was a miniature version of original design of the old mansion. It still amazes me today for such a successful rich businessman to write a will of returning his wealth to the charitable society. He truly made an impact in the island, and it will be hard for people to forget his name.
After that, Mum and I met up AhPo, Xiao Jiu and all to have lunch at Mei Yuan around town. We headed to one of the oldest cloth shop in George Town for tailoring her best outfit for KOKO's wedding of the century :)

Accenture BUMPer Story

So, I am alive! Where goes my motivation to update my blog man ?!@?#?$?$ Anyway, I'm glad that I've broken the little spell and back to this space. I plan to update a few stories in separate blog posts, so watch out for this space..

So, let's roll yourself back to 08/08/08. What was I doing while the whole ging-gang of you r celebrating Min's bday????? I was actually at Lumut, attending my first-ever BUM.. (Yeah man, can't remember why i skip the last two BUMs now). The whole bunch of Accenturians gathered here at Damai Laut Hotel for 3 days 2 nights. This is actually one of the most happending and most looking-forward-to event of the year! But I find it rather quiet and "peaceful" this year. Partly cos we were seated rather far from the swimming pool and sea.. It is not that convenient to dunk anyone in this year.

Few of highlights during the BUM trip. I spent the half of od my first day working in KLCC tower 2! (yeahman!) Fortunately, KY and gang are kind enough to wait for me and give me ride to Lumut. The 2nd half of the day is pretty much packed with speeches, and normal annoucements. Nothing really enticing :P (No offense boss) We ended watching Olympics Game Opening in one of our frens' room.

Second day was much more interesting, we spent the whole morning and noon playing house sport games (apparently to catch the Olyumpic fever bugs). I personally find it interesting. Maybe becos this is my first ever BUM. Sweat! A series of free activities lined up for us in the afternnon, e.g. spa, tatoo, t-shirt printing etc. ShiMin and I painted our very own BFF T-shirts (under the big hot sun). Was dissappointed when our other BFF (no name mentioned, ehhem!) didn't wear it out at all! Anyhow, love to credit the committee for making 10xsure that you don't get bored during the day! At night, a gang of us decided to drive out to this Seafood place near Lumut that sells cheap cheap yummy seafood. I think the bill came up to RM 300 for 15 of us, including beer and drinks. And that should be a mark-up price since none of us look / sound like a local (what more our car plate all start with a "W"). Pieng, Leng, Jeng! (Cheap, good, yummy). Came back just in time to catch Kalel's performance. (BFF, even though U don notice me.. I was there, ok? :P)

Anyway, I enjoyed the trip very much. On the way back, we stopped by at this Duck Noodle place, and surprisingly found many Accenturians were there too! There is either no other good places to go, or we all share the same taste! Way-to-go, BUMPers 2008!
