Accenture BUMPer Story

So, I am alive! Where goes my motivation to update my blog man ?!@?#?$?$ Anyway, I'm glad that I've broken the little spell and back to this space. I plan to update a few stories in separate blog posts, so watch out for this space..

So, let's roll yourself back to 08/08/08. What was I doing while the whole ging-gang of you r celebrating Min's bday????? I was actually at Lumut, attending my first-ever BUM.. (Yeah man, can't remember why i skip the last two BUMs now). The whole bunch of Accenturians gathered here at Damai Laut Hotel for 3 days 2 nights. This is actually one of the most happending and most looking-forward-to event of the year! But I find it rather quiet and "peaceful" this year. Partly cos we were seated rather far from the swimming pool and sea.. It is not that convenient to dunk anyone in this year.

Few of highlights during the BUM trip. I spent the half of od my first day working in KLCC tower 2! (yeahman!) Fortunately, KY and gang are kind enough to wait for me and give me ride to Lumut. The 2nd half of the day is pretty much packed with speeches, and normal annoucements. Nothing really enticing :P (No offense boss) We ended watching Olympics Game Opening in one of our frens' room.

Second day was much more interesting, we spent the whole morning and noon playing house sport games (apparently to catch the Olyumpic fever bugs). I personally find it interesting. Maybe becos this is my first ever BUM. Sweat! A series of free activities lined up for us in the afternnon, e.g. spa, tatoo, t-shirt printing etc. ShiMin and I painted our very own BFF T-shirts (under the big hot sun). Was dissappointed when our other BFF (no name mentioned, ehhem!) didn't wear it out at all! Anyhow, love to credit the committee for making 10xsure that you don't get bored during the day! At night, a gang of us decided to drive out to this Seafood place near Lumut that sells cheap cheap yummy seafood. I think the bill came up to RM 300 for 15 of us, including beer and drinks. And that should be a mark-up price since none of us look / sound like a local (what more our car plate all start with a "W"). Pieng, Leng, Jeng! (Cheap, good, yummy). Came back just in time to catch Kalel's performance. (BFF, even though U don notice me.. I was there, ok? :P)

Anyway, I enjoyed the trip very much. On the way back, we stopped by at this Duck Noodle place, and surprisingly found many Accenturians were there too! There is either no other good places to go, or we all share the same taste! Way-to-go, BUMPers 2008!

New Kick To Blog

"You are too lazy to blog", a comment I got today. (Look like I really should stop procrastinating)

Been hanging out a lot with frens lately. Work-life balance is ultimate these days, have enough of impacts at work and yet save sufficient time and energy to my own personal life. I am somewhat a Libran.

Browsing through Jovy's blog, and found this site. "What your name hidden meaning" Cute.

http://www.blogthings.com/whatsyournameshiddenmeaningquiz/

Another new found in Office 2007, you can actually create blogpost on Office 2007, which link directly to your selected host site (e.g. Blogger.com). So cool. Now, I no longer need to type post in web-based blog entry page, and wait for photos to be uploaded (Pray hard for upload to be successful). It is much easier to manage this way.

Wedding @ Long Pine

Attended a very beautiful wedding @ Penang last weekend.
CYee, KY and I travelled up after work on Friday to meet Kalel and Denis who were already there in Penang. As we were all in Penang, one thing we never miss is food. We went to Oriental Seafood and ordered some porridge with CRAB. Yes, Crab for supper. I guess that is not-too-much for three big guys.

Awakened next day by my mum’s usual morning call. Mum has improvised her method this around. Apparently, as part of the alignment strategy to energy efficiency (hike in Electricity Bill is also part of the reasons), whoever wakes up earlier will switch off the air con (And she has been practicing that with Dad!!) There is an old Chinese saying, if you have good start, you are already half-way to success. (好的开始是成功的一半)So, with a not-so-good way of waking up, I am already sensing a bad day.

Well enough, few shits happened that day.
The group eventually woke up around 10.30am, and we left home for brunch @ a Nyonya restaurant near Gurney Place. First shit happened – I open the menu, only to realize that the place is not entirely halal.. So embarrassed! Anyhow, I am glad that my fren here is not too particular (phew!) Food was not that great, but we were all hungry I guess. During lunch, KK suggested to go watch movie. Looking @ the time, 2.15pm Hellboy show seems possible.

Lunch @ Some Nyonya place @ Gurney
We drove up to Queensbay, and the guys went to watch Hellboy while the girls went for our hair-do. Here comes the 2nd shit, the movie ended later than expected. By the time we got home, it was already 5.10pm….Only 20 mins away from the Wedding Ceremony. All of us dashed into our rooms, get changed, make up (for me),….. and the 3rd shit came, I had a bad migraine. So terribly bad timing, as we will need to drive up to Long Pine. Good that KY is there, and he knows the road pretty well.

We reached Long Pine only after Betty and Mian Hua walked down the aisle. The Pastor was making the most memorable speech when I walked in. He was saying… “Do you know a guy who kisses his wife everyday makes a better man……. Which eventually makes a better driver on the road…. Which will reduce the accident rate in Penang” …. OMG>>>> My frens here were already teasing me for my “famous” driving skills. Look like I need to find a life-time partner asap. :P (ps: I really don’t think Penang drivers are that bad. Penang motorcyclist are.. and KL drivers are worse! No offence btw. I am Penang driver driving in KL - Worst)

Wedding ceremony was beautifully set under the violet sunset, light sea breeze, fragrant roses, melodious jazzy music, cheerful crowd full of laughter, colourful bubbles blown by kids. Air filled by romance and joy of the new wedded, which somehow influences the party, especially the rest of couple in-love. We congratulated the couple after the ceremony, and have some photo-shoot capturing the moment of happiness and love, enjoying the Lychee Pimms served.

Dinner was served @ 7pm. Food was good, the company made it even better. After dinner, Betty changed into a beautifully cut sea blue chiffon cocktail dress, and flowed around the crowd to greet everyone. (Extra elegant!) The couple then gave their speech and toss. It was funny when Mian Hua describe how their relationship is as exciting as “Amazing Race”; sometimes it is as scary as “Fear Factor”.. You can see a big warm smile on Betty’s face. Congratulations again and again!

Trip trip trip

This is a long over-due post which I have saved in My Folder for over two weeks.
A group of us drove up to Penang during the Wesak Holiday. As the baby of Penang, I brought them around the island, and our journey is full with makan2 itineraries. BKT @ Carnation Gurney Drive, Char Kuey Teow / Ice Kacang, OO-Jien (Fried Osyter) @ Lorong Selamat, Ice-cream pit-stop @ Rasa Sayang, Durian @ Balik Pulau, Nyonya food @ Hai Nan Weld Quay, drink @ QEII, and nonetheless Seafood @ Oriental Macalister. I was pretty amazed by the amount of food we managed to stuff into our stomach. Altogether, that was my third consecutive weeks back in Penang, and all the extra calories are effectively finding their new comfy home around my waistline. Despite that, I really did enjoy myself! (And will definitely consider this as my new profession..)

A new housemate just moved-in – a Korean. Yan Min and I have been found our new language teacher.. and learnt a few new words (well besides the “Sa-rang-he-yo” and “Bia-ne O-pa!” that we always hear on TV)

“Ah-niong! (Hello!) Ah-ne-ha-se-yo! (How are you?) Nan-nen Ching Wan Imida (My name is Ching Wan)”
Man-no-so-pang-ka-e-te-le-me-da“ (Nice meeting you?) -> Not sure about this man!
Kim-chi-shi-tei boh-ku shit-o? (Do you like to drink Kim-Chi Soup with me?)

Along side, we also picked up a few new “words” which are censored from this blog post *wink*

One small note

Another long haul since my last update here again. Has it been three weeks? Or even more? I was back in Penang for weekend for the last two weeks, once for a long weekend break, and another time to celebrate Mother's Day. And, guess wat? I will be going back again in about an hour time. This time, I'm bringing Denis, Gan, Rebecca & Gary. When I said "bringing", I actually meant Denis drives while I sleep throughout the 4.5 hours journey. 4.5hours? hmmm this can be insulting to Denis' driving skills, 3 hours sounds about right :P

Happy Birthday! Happy Birthday

8th May - Woke up this morning and only first thing struck my mind was KY's birthday! (Honour huh?) On my way to work, I told myself to txt him first thing I arrived @ work.. But, oops it slipped my mind. Second reminder came in when Shi Min mentioned that we should go Secret Recipe for his Bday.. then again, client call came in @ the same time, and oops it happened again.. after a whole morning with many "oops", I've finally greeted him on our way to Secret Recipe. My bad, I am sorry :(

Lunch @ Secret Recipe, Pasar Seni - Bumped into KM team!

KY looks like HUNGRY BOAR
That evening, we organised a small Karaoke session for Ky's birthday, which turned out to be a huge snow ball, and a bunch of people came! Thank you everyone for making it! For those who have missed out, there will always be a next-time.(But, ehhem, I think will be until next next next next next month.)

Proper Cake

Victorious SMILE

16th May - hmmm.. two days away from BFF's birthday, the second "baby" of the month. We've decided to celebrate it earlier today and give him a little surprise. Almost everyone in Dayabumi drove up to Sooka Sentral - Oriental Spoon. Happy BIRTHDAY in advance! Kalel!

Kalel looking all eager about wat's inside the box

Found out about the little cake!

Only manage to blow off the candle after THREE attempts

Group photo Again!

May is a good month! Two of my good frens' birthdays fall on this month. That also means a series of celebration and makan2 sessions. Need to run to the gym now..
